Copper bottles need proper care to ensure they stay shiny and captivating. The good news is that copper bottles can be easily maintained using some simple home remedies.
IMPORTANT - It is not safe to put the copper bottle in the dish-washer.
- Wash the bottle regularly. The copper bottle can be washed with warm water and a little soap. Avoid using too many chemicals when cleaning. Gently rinse the bottle by using a mild soap then use a soft dishcloth to dry. You can keep the bottle open upside down on any surface after washing to drain the water.
- LEMON AND SALT. If you notice tarnish in certain areas on the bottle, cut a lemon in half and sprinkle some salt on it. Scrub the bottle with the lemon and wash with lukewarm water. This will return the bottle’s natural luster.
- VINEGAR AND SALT. Vinegar and salt are excellent for cleaning copper because acidic vinegar can remove tarnish and the abrasive salt helps remove any of the built-up debris.
- KETCHUP. Spread a little ketchup on the affected areas and evenly spread with fingers. Let it sit for a few minutes. Wipe the ketchup with a sponge or a dish cloth. Rinse the ketchup thoroughly with lukewarm water. This should do the trick.
