Copper mugs need proper care to ensure they stay shiny and continue to captivate all. The good news is that copper mugs can be maintained using some simple home remedies.
- Wash the mugs regularly. Please keep in mind that the copper mugs are not dishwasher safe. Copper mugs can be washed with warm water and a little soap. Avoid using too many chemicals when cleaning. Gently rinse the inside and soap the exterior. Use a soft dish cloth to dry the mug. Double dry the mug to ensure there is no water residue. It is also not safe to put the copper mugs in the microwave oven.
- LEMON AND SALT. If you notice tarnish in certain areas on the mug, cut a lemon in half and sprinkle some salt on it. Scrub the mug with the lemon and wash with lukewarm water. This will return the mug to its shiny self.
- VINEGAR AND SALT. Vinegar and salt are excellent for cleaning copper because acidic vinegar can strip tarnish and abrasive salt helps to remove any of the built-up debris.
- KETCHUP. Spread a little ketchup on the affected areas and evenly spread with fingers. Let it sit for a few minutes. Wipe the ketchup with sponge or a dish cloth. Rinse the ketchup thoroughly with lukewarm water. This should do the trick.
